Arrest, search and committal warrants for tabletop RPGs

A warrant is the moment the law stops asking. Hand the players one with their own name on it, or one with the name of the person they have been hiding, and the session changes speed.

What the page holds

The authority and the court at the head, the kind of warrant — arrest, search or committal — and its number, the person or the premises, a description, the charges with their grounds, then the order itself and how long it holds. At the foot, the place and date, the judge’s signature, any witnesses and a stamp you drag into place.

Four courts

The witch hunter’s writ is a broadside from a holy office, printed black and red on rough paper. The sector bench warrant is a stark enforcement printout under a hazard stripe, with lethal force authorised. The search warrant is a county court form, typed in, stamped as filed and signed by the judge. The 1920s committal is a printed blank filled in by hand, sending a man from Kingsport to the Arkham Sanitarium.

A4 at 300 DPI. What the officers found when they searched is an Evidence Report, and the deed that sent the man from Kingsport down into his cellar is a Contract.
